I’m infinitely curious about all things mystical, but I’m especially devoted to the plant path.
My initiation into earth magic began when I was a small child, playing in the forests, streams and meadows of my rural New England home. I started learning traditional systems of divination when I was a teenager, and I’ve been passionate about exploring intuitive ways of knowing ever since. I have trained with many respected herbalists, mystics, wise elders and healers but more than anything, my education has come from my firsthand experiences in nature and in the dreamworld.
This space is an apothecary of medicine stories, handpicked and wildcrafted from my journeys through the wildwood.
Please enjoy the harvest of my musings and ramblings on the sacred wisdom and magic of the earth, the trees, the plants and the language of dreams, which weaves the web that connects each one of us to the infinite.
What DOES INTUITION HAVE TO DO WITH HERBALISM?
Let me tell you how the plants taught me about intuition.
See, I was a word smith and a Tarot reader before I was an herbalist.
I have always had a mind for symbols. Perhaps that’s why I wanted to study poetry in college. I have always loved the interplay of language and image.
By the time I found the herbalist path and committed to formal training in botanical medicine, I had already been studying the Tarot and other forms of divination for many years. So it was natural to me to apply my understanding of symbolism and the archetypes of the Tarot to my studies of plants, and when I did, whole new worlds opened up. It was like an ancient door had been revealed into a hidden garden full of wisdom just for me.
I noticed that the more I allowed my intuitive knowings about the plants to teach me and guide my healing, the more skilled I became in working with the plants. I stopped trying to memorize facts and started relating to plants as beings with meanings far deeper than their chemical constituents. My skills as a healer took off. I started receiving powerful messages and revelations from the plants in dreams, visions, and synchronicities – experiences I call little plant miracles – that came in a language that was deeply personal and meaningful. And the more I allowed these intuitive connections to inform my knowledge of the world around me, the more open I became to deepening my connections with sacred plants and the natural world.

ABOUT AUDREY…
Audrey Gilbert is a certified herbalist, hypnotherapist, and intuitive counselor.
She’s infinitely interested in all things magic, folklore, herbalism, and the language of dreams.
Her initiation into earth magic began as a small child, playing in the woods and streams of rural New England. She graduated from Yale University and taught literature and poetry before delving into the healing arts and discovering her gifts as an intuitive empath.
She has been offering intuitive readings for over 20 years, and has been training in herbalism since 2012. She has studied with many of the most beloved herbalists of our time as well as many skilled shamans, dream teachers, and indigenous healers. She is certified Advanced Herbalist through the Herbal Academy and certified Consulting Hypnotist through the National Guild of Hypnotists. She is currently in the 3rd year of Druid training with the Green Mountain Druid School.
Audrey is also founder of Holistic Hypnotherapy, her private healing arts practice in which she integrates divination, herbal medicine, dreamwork and hypnosis to help her clients access expanded states of consciousness in order connect with their inner wisdom and align with their intuition to create positive change in their lives.
